Hungry

Last night, we went to the same restaurant two nights in a row, with the same people, even though the service was terrible. We were willing to be patient maybe because it was an Italian restaurant, and I LOVE Italian food?
Anyway, Alayne had the right idea--the second night, she brought beer and chocolate-covered Shredded Wheat (with sprinkles) to "tide her over" until dinner.
Doc knows best!

The Material World

In Dreamland last night, I was hired to teach a Materials class at a local community college.  Materials is the area of my former husband, but I guess that qualified me as a instructor in that area.  One day, I was unable to teach, so Peter (who was younger in this dream--about 16) filled in for me.  He did a much better job than I, and the class was so taken with him that they went for a hike with him in a local park the next afternoon.  While waiting for my be-smitten class to return, I realized that, even though the end of the semester was less than 3 weeks away, I had given the class no assignments or tests!  I figured we should get back to class ASAP, to make up for lost time!  I couldn't find the class anywhere, even though I searched for them EVERYWHERE, including the houses of Mao Tse Tung and Khrushchev--who looked remarkably like the photos I've supplied.

A New Clue Game

Last night, I dreamed my co-worker, Joanne, had murderous thoughts while working behind the Circulation Desk (we ALL have those thoughts while working behind that desk on a regular basis--usually about patrons).  I was called to give assistance when she came at another co-worker with a snowman paperweight!

So, for you Clue fans, it was Joanne, in the Library, with the paperweight.

Huge Wedding

Last night I dreamed there was a family wedding that was so large, 1) Even the dead were there, and 2) I forgot who was getting married!  There was food for breakfast, food for lunch, food for the pre-wedding, and we never got to the actual ceremony.  All my dead relatives were there---it was delightful to see them again.

Royal Concert

Last night, I returned to a place I spent many hours in as a youth--Vet's Auditorium.  I was with Erika and Jonny, and Prince William, Kate, and Prince Harry.  We were there for a concert which featured the royals' cousin, who was a wilder person than Prince Harry could ever be.  I think it was Erika and Jonny's job to keep him sober until the concert, but their best efforts were just not enough.
Before the concert started, I had to drive to West Des Moines to pick up Peter, who was having a nice visit with Paul Newman.  But isn't Paul Newman dead?  They were having such a good time, especially compared to the difficulties Erika and Jonny were having with the royals.

Deleted "Downton" Scenes

Here are some never-before-seen scenes from "Downton Abbey", provided via Dreamland:

  • Lord Grantham brings everyone, including downstairs staff, a new invention--"Carryout"--for lunch, much to the dismay of Mrs. Padmore.
  • The staff engage in a new game, involving a ball and a net, but the rules are not clear to anyone, including me.
  • We see the return of a 4th daughter, Emma.  She's never been spoken of, because she broke off every tie she had with the family in order to attend college.  Such scandal, and she flaunts it by wearing a sweatshirt from her university--if I could just read what it says....

Everybody Was Kangaroo Fighting...

People were lined up to box with a kangaroo.  That is, until Crystal stepped in and made them stop.  FYI--the kangaroo won every bout!
Next dream involved breathing in one of the new snorkel masks.  I woke up still trying to get the hang of it!

Thanksgiving!

Last night in Dreamland, it was Thanksgiving.  There was much to do, and a lot of rushing from here to there.  Karen and I did have help though.
The role of me was played by Ellen Degeneres, who was played by Ellen Degeneres (this makes sense only in Dreamland).  The role of Karen was played by Portia de Rossi.
Sadly, I woke up before dinner.  Starving.

Snow Day?

Last night, we went to bed wondering if we would get a Snow Day today.
Imagine my surprise when I arrived in Dreamland!  Not only would we get a Snow Day, the Library (where I work) was going to be totally renovated and would be closed indefinitely.  No idea where my office would be, or whether I would have to move to NY City--which is where the Library was going to re-open.
I was in kind of a hurry to find all this out, because the baby with me had a full diaper.....
